GNBVT Celebrates Young Women in STEM

On December 2, 2017, eight amazing young women represented Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech in Bristol Community College’s annual Women in STEM competition under the supervision of Engineering Instructor, Angela Basse. The girls were separated into two teams and put their problem solving skills to the test. This competition focused on the various STEM areas, which are science, technology, engineering and mathematics. “The girls worked diligently and tactfully to brainstorm, strategize, calculate, design and test their solutions to the many different problems they faced during the competition” Basse remarked. Other high schools in our area that were involved were New Bedford High School, Dighton Rehoboth, Durfee, Bishop Connolly and Fairhaven High School.
