GNB Voc-Tech Business Professionals of America Chapter Excels in Community Service and Prepares for State Leadership Conference

The Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter proudly announces its outstanding commitment to community service and fundraising initiatives as it prepares for the State Leadership Conference (SLC).

This year, a remarkable group of 50 dedicated GNB Voc-Tech students from the BPA chapter will be attending the prestigious State Leadership Conference. This event, scheduled for March 2nd and 3rd, will provide an opportunity for students to showcase their skills, participate in competitions, and network with industry professionals.

In addition to their academic pursuits, BPA members are committed to giving back to the community through meaningful acts of service. The chapter has successfully completed 15 to 20 hours of community service per member, demonstrating a deep sense of responsibility and dedication to making a positive impact.

The GNB Voc-Tech BPA chapter officer team has taken the lead in organizing various community service projects. In particular, the team ran a clothing drive, collecting gifts to provide clothes for homeless children in the local area for Gifts to Give. This initiative not only brought cheer to those in need but also highlighted the chapter’s commitment to philanthropy.

Moreover, the GNB chapter officers volunteered at the “Boo at the Zoo” event in October, contributing their time and energy to create a memorable experience for families attending the Halloween-themed festivities. Their involvement in community events reflects the chapter’s commitment to civic engagement and building a sense of unity within the community.

As the chapter gears up for the State Leadership Conference, students have participated in fundraising activities to support the participation of all 50 students. These fundraising efforts not only ensure the financial sustainability of the chapter but also provide valuable lessons in teamwork, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

GNB Voc-Tech BPA Chapter Advisor Thai Panayakul expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments, stating, “Our BPA members continually impress us with their dedication to both academic excellence and community service. Their involvement in the State Leadership Conference is a testament to their commitment to personal and professional growth.”
