Dear Bears Community,
As we approach the final week for the Class of 2025 here at Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech, I want to take a moment to reflect with pride and gratitude on this remarkable group of young people who have left an indelible mark on our school community.
This coming week is filled with celebrations to honor their journey—our Pep Rally, the Senior Cookout, Senior Breakfast, and an exciting series of events that will culminate in what promises to be an unforgettable Prom and After-Prom. Each moment is a tribute to the years of growth, perseverance, and community they’ve contributed to during their time at GNBVT.
These seniors are more than graduates—they are leaders in the making. As they prepare to sign out next Thursday, they carry with them not only their academic and technical achievements but also the values we hold dear: Preparation, passion, and perseverance. They embody the spirit of our Creed of —Preparing with purpose, pursuing with Passion, and persevering with pride.
We send them forward with full confidence in their ability to succeed and thrive. They leave our halls ready to pursue their dreams, contribute meaningfully to the world, and face the future fearlessly. And above all, we hope they always remember: they are more than capable and more than enough.
Let us all continue to support them, celebrate them, and honor what they have meant to this community. Because here at GNBVT, once a Bear, always a Bear.
Bears United!
With appreciation,
Principal Williams

We’re excited to announce that we’ve officially reached our $25,000 fundraising goal—thank you so much for your incredible support!
Now, we need your help to make the event happen. To successfully run After Prom, we need 20 more volunteers to fill two shifts throughout the night. Without enough help, we simply won’t be able to hold the event.
We especially encourage underclassman families to get involved—this is a great opportunity to support the senior class while gaining insight into what it takes to host a large-scale event. Your time and energy will help create a fun, safe, and unforgettable night for our seniors!
We’re also seeking raffle prizes and prepared food donations to help make the night extra special. If you’re able to help, please sign up or donate using the links below:

May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Our mental health and physical health are deeply connected. Taking care of one supports the
other. Depression and anxiety can increase the risk for chronic illnesses like heart disease and
diabetes. Exercise, good nutrition and quality sleep support both mental health and physical
well-being. Preventative care and strong social supports promote lifelong wellness.
During this month it’s important to remember and know the impact that we can have on others.

Shakespeare continues to pull people in and our own school’s performance of Macbeth is living proof. Laura McLean collaborated with Jen Gaspar from Media Tech to produce the tragedy Macbeth, honoring the 461st birthday of its creator William Shakespeare.
The players consisted of seniors from Mrs. McLean’s AP Literature class. Even before reading the play in class they had decided they wanted to take it to the stage. For many this was a first-ever experience and they soon learned the hard work of learning lines, cues, and staging, not to mention interpreting Shakespeare’s lines.
This was Mrs. McLean’s 7th production of a Shakespearean play, and the most technologically advanced.
