School News:
Class Officer Elections: It is time to elect our class officers! Do you have leadership skills? Do you want to be involved in planning your class events and fund-raisers? Being a Class officer helps build important skills while working to make your Class successful and your events fun! If you are interested in becoming an officer, please see your class advisers to pick up a form and submit it by the deadline of September 20th – NO FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE. Elections will be held October 1st during all lunch shifts. Please see the big screen at the Welcome Center for a list of class advisers and their room numbers. Good Luck to all potential candidates!
Academic Support: The Academic Support Program and Math department will be offering additional after school help for Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II courses after school starting the week of September 16th (cycle 3). These sessions will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4 pm. Students interested in attending these sessions should see their Guidance Councilor
BCC Summer Spanish: Any student who participated in the BCC Summer Spanish class should return BCC transcript and books to Mrs. Walsh in K101, we can then issue your refunds. See your counselors to sign up.
Renaissance Award Ceremony: A reminder that the Renaissance Award Ceremony will be held this morning. With teacher permission, please dismiss eligible students to the auditorium at the end of the morning announcements. Congratulations to all our award winners!
SAT: Attention: Any Senior interested in taking the November 2nd SAT Test, please see your Guidance Counselor- before school, after school, or during lunch for information regarding registration. Students can also register online at www.collegeboard.org. It is highly recommended that students take the SAT with Essay Test. The registration deadline for the November Test is October 3rd. Eligible students may see your Guidance Counselor for Fee Waivers.
Library & Tech Center: The library and Technology Center will be open from 3-4 pm, Monday-Thursday starting on Monday, September 9th. All students are welcome to utilize these resources.
After Prom: The 2020 After Prom will host its first fundraiser of the year with Empire Ford. Take a spin in a new Ford vehicle. For every test drive, the 2020 After Prom receives $20 from Ford Motor Company. You will not receive any follow up calls unless requested by you. All drivers must be 18 years or older. You may pre-register for this event at d4ur.com/MM6j6or scan the code on the flyer which can be found on the school website. The event will take place at GNB Voc-Tech from 9am until 4pm on October 5th. Contact Ms. Gaspar for more information.

Skills USA
- SkillsUSA Chapter Officer Applications are ready. Become a leading force behind our chapter’s success. See Mrs. Russell or Mrs. Lacasse for applications. Applications must be completed by September 12th.
- Interested in becoming a part of a student led organization? Consider joining the SkillsUSA Leadership Team – first meeting is September 10th at 2:35pm in B242.
- Any student, faculty, or staff that is interested in learning more about SkillsUSA there is an informational question and answer session in the auditorium afterschool on Wednesday, September 18.
Bowling Club: The Bowling Club will begin Tuesday, September 10, 2019 after school for all students that would like to participate at the WonderBowl. Please pick up a “School Sponsored Activity Sheet” at the Welcome Center, Guidance, or B227, to be signed by a parent/guardian for the reason that this club is an off-campus activity. A $8.25 fee per week includes 3 games and shoes. With a completed activity sheet turned into Guidance or B227 – you will receive a “Bowling Bus Pass” for the Dartmouth Brown Bus at 2:30 p.m., which will drop you off directly at the WonderBowl. When bowling is completed, transportation is required for the student by a Parent/Guardian from the WonderBowl. Voc-Tech Theatre Company: Sept. 11th and 12th, Wednesday and Thursday, the Theatre Company will behaving sign-ups for all who are interested in performing on stage and also those who would like to be a part of the Tech Crew for our fall show. Sign-ups will be held after school only, from 2:30pm – 3:00pm in front of the DramaOffice backstage, Room B133. At that time, you will sign into a day and time that you would like to audition or if it’s for Tech Crew you are interested in, fill out a Tech Crew form. The fall presentation is our modern version of Henrik Ibsen’s “An Enemy of the People”, adapted by Arthur Miller, an explosive play revealing distrust of politicians and the blindly held prejudices of the ‘solid majority’. Sign up to be part of live theater here at Voc-Tec. This experience may reveal a part of you that you never knew existed and lead to new and exciting possibilities in your life. Boys’ and Girls’ XC: Our Boys and Girls Cross-Country teams will compete against Bishop Stang on Saturday morning at 10:30 at Bishop Stang High School. All team members should report to the field house by 9:15 tomorrow morning.
