NEASC accreditation cycle survey

Posted Date: 11/05/26 (06:30 PM)

Dear GNBVT Families,

Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School (GNBVT) is officially beginning a new accreditation cycle through the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

Accreditation by NEASC indicates that GNBVT has conducted a comprehensive self-evaluation of all its programs and hosted an external visiting team to evaluate the institution against its own stated educational goals and the rigorous Standards for Accreditation set by the Commission on Public Schools. Awarding accreditation signifies that GNBVT meets high educational standards and remains dedicated to continuous institutional improvement.

Because students are at the core of everything GNBVT does, accreditation directly benefits them in several key ways:

  • Quality Assurance: Assures families that student needs are being met through high-quality educational and vocational programs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ensures a formal process exists to identify, address, and correct any deficiencies in school programs.
  • Credit Transferability: Guarantees that student transfer credits are more widely accepted if a family moves to a new district.
  • College Admissions: Provides college and university admissions representatives with confidence regarding the quality and rigor of a student's preparation.

As part of the NEASC accreditation cycle, parent and guardian perspectives are essential. NEASC requires a survey to gather valuable community feedback to help evaluate how well the school aligns with its accreditation standards.

NEASC mandates a minimum parent/guardian participation rate of 25% for survey results to be validated.

GNBVT asks all parents and guardians to take a few moments to complete the survey and play an active role in supporting the school’s accreditation process and long-term excellence.
