South Coast SCUBA YouthWorks After School Program
GNB Voc-Tech students have an exciting opportunity to learn how to scuba dive in a forward-thinking, grant funded after-school program. The skills gained through this opportunity are more than just a hobby; they can expand career opportunities for our students in career paths such as metal fabrication, engineering, media technology, and electrical. Dignitaries from the state visited Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech to honor the school for receiving the grant. They toured and visited our facilities to learn more about the state-of-the-art equipment and high quality programs that the school offers to help prepare our students for unique workforce opportunities.
It is through our partnership with the Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board (GNBWIB), the Greater New Bedford Career Center/New Directions Southcoast, and Bob’s Sea and Ski of Fairhaven that GNB Voc-Tech students are able to participate in the after school Scuba Diving Programs.
