The science department has had upgrades in this year so students are able to have a hands on experience at home. Using different devices such as LabXchange, Nearpod, CK-12, Youtube for their curriculum. Currently our biotech division are working hard to find ways to bring their students into projects while doing online classes. Biotech is considered a very hands on class but since all work has to be done online Biotech started working with Harvard and their program LabXchange. LabXchange allows students to participate in active learning. The teacher can show videos where the student can go at their own pace, Lab demonstrations and customizing the work to match up with their curriculum.Â
Our teachers have been working together to videotape lab demonstrations of different experiments that are usually done in class. They show the lab setup and procedure. The videos show each step and the outcome, giving results and still being given the opportunity to analyze the data and write conclusions from said data.
