Rachel Jay Scott was a teen killed in the 1999 Columbine High shooting. Her parents took the initiative to extend her legacy by giving others the kindness that she gave to everyone by creating the non-profit organization “Rachel’s Challenge” to help reduce violence. This national organization (https://rachelschallenge.org) has a very active branch here in GNBVT. Under the advisors, Wadley DaSilva and Sarah Hartley, the students of GNB Voc-Tech meet every Thursday to discuss not only ways to reduce the threat violence in schools but also, spread positivity and acts of kindness throughout the culture of our school and the communities that GNBVT services.
