Do you love giving presents, but dislike wrapping? The Trading Post and Business Technology students are hosting their annual gift-wrapping fund-raiser in benefit of Holiday Helpers. Purchase any school store items or bring in your presents from home! Wrapping is $3 per package – 100% of the proceeds are donated to Holiday Helpers! Bring your packages to the Trading Post during open hours or visit Ms. Ripley in room B329 or call extension 299 to schedule a pickup! Happy Holidays!

Winter Pep rally will be next Friday. Class Olympics will take place during the rally. For your chance to participate you can put your name in the class boxes located in the main lobby during all lunches tomorrow and Monday.

Please wear your class colors during the pep rally:

• Seniors: Black
• Juniors: Green
• Sophomores: Gold
• Freshmen: White

Please join us for the Powder Puff Game following the pep rally. Food will be available for purchase and you must provide your own transportation home. Please dress warmly this is an outside event!

Powder Puff Practice will be as follows:

  1. Williams’ Freshman/Senior team will practice on Tuesday, 12/18 at 3:00
  2. Wildrick’s Sophomore/Junior team will practice on Wednesday, 12/19 at 2:45
  • Both practices will be on the football field; please dress accordingly.

The Renaissance Award Ceremony for the first marking period of 2018-2019 will be held Friday, December 21st. With teacher permission, students who have received an invitation should report to the auditorium after the morning announcements.

Mass Maritime Academy will be offering Introduction to Emergency Management and Current Environmental Problems, both 3-credit courses, from 4-7pm on Mondays beginning March 11. They will provide bus transportation for students interested in taking a dual enrollment class at MMA this spring semester. Please see Mrs. Walsh in the Co-Op office, K 101.

Any student with a minimum 2.5 GPA interested in taking a BCC Dual Enrollment class please see Mrs. Walsh in the Co-Op Office, K101

Attention students: There will be a Bears Building Community meeting on Tuesday, December 18th at 2:30 in room J208. We will be organizing for our 1st drive. All are welcome to attend. Please see Mrs. Lacasse or Mrs. Wallace with any questions.

If you’re a freshman and want to participate in SkillsUSA, an information meeting will be held on Monday, January 7 to join the 2019 OCC team. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies Competition is a great way to learn more about SkillsUSA, compete in the 2019 State Competition, and stay overnight for the State Leadership and Skills Conference. The OCC information meeting will be held after school, January 7 in Ms. Rebello’s classroom, Dental room C224. See or email the OCC advisors, Ms. Rebelo or Ms. Alexander, if you have any questions.

The Rachel’s Challenge Club will be having their next meeting on Thursday, December 13 at 2:45 in the Student Forum. Bring friends as we plan and organize for our Christmas Service Project. See Mrs. Hartley in B247 or Mr. DaSilva in guidance with any questions.

Origami Club will meet after school this Wednesday in room B332. Beginners always welcome!

Attention Sophomore Class Officers & Attention all sophomores: The October fundraising items have arrived! All orders must be picked up in Ms. Ripley’s room B329 before the end of the week. Thank you!

Attention all freshmen: There will be a meeting for freshmen Class Officers and representatives on Wednesday, December 19th at 2:30 p.m. in Room B356. All freshmen are welcome to attend.

A representative from Educational Opportunity center will be here in room J108 every 1st and 3rd Thursday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Attention students. The Professional Speaking Club will be holding meetings every Monday at 2:35 in Room C104. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please see Mr. Ron Quintin if you have any questions.

Want to represent your shop? Want to represent your school? SkillsUSA local competitions start on Monday, December 10 and will run through Friday, December 14. Competitions and advisors are listed on the SkillsUSA bulletin board near the cafeteria.

Attention Seniors: Any senior that would like to compete in this years Mr. Voc-Tech must see Ms. Gaspar in room G141 for an application form. Forms are due Wednesday, January 9th.

The Varsity Hockey Team won their first game of the season last night by defeating South Shore by a score of 10 to 2. Goal scorers for the Bears included Cam Arguin with four, Mason Dupre with two, while Nathan Demers, Max Lague, Kolby Timmons, and Spencer Raposo each had one. Austin Shorrock and Javonny Fernandes shared the goalie duties facing 12 shots respectively. Great game boys!

Winter Track & Field:

  • Our Girls Track team started out their season last night by beating Seekonk 40-36 and Stang 53-31 Winners in both meets were, Faith Horrocks in High Jump and 300, Brianna Mentzer 55 Hurdles, Sadie Mello 600and with the Seekonk meet coming down to the final relay the relay team of Faith Horrocks, Piper Cooks, Sadie Mello & Page Lynch. Girls record 2-0.
  • Our Boys’ track team beat Stang 58-28 and lost to Seekonk 53-30. Winners in both meets were Sheldon Clark 55m, Jonny Vongsouna 55 Hurdles, Avery Harp 600 & Alex DeCruz High Jump. Boys record 1-1
  • Tomorrow selected members of our Boys and girls Track & Field teams will compete in Boston in the Boston Holiday Invitational. Those members selected must report by 7:30.
  • There will be no practice, today, Friday, December 14th.
