Not only do patterns create the basis of mathematics, they also demonstrate beauty and balance in life.
Mrs. Jessica Cziska
Meet Mrs. Cziska, a teacher in our Math department. Mrs. Cziska is known for being an amazing teacher with fifteen years of experience in the field of education. This though was not always her goal, as she originally hoped to pursue a career in the arts. However, as a student she would tutor her friends, and loved the feeling she got from helping other people learn, which led her down the path of pursuing a career in the education field. Mrs. Cziska graduated from UMass Dartmouth but had gone through an extensive journey to return there. She then transferred to UC Davis, and eventually transferred to MassArt in Boston where she would earn her teaching certificate. After all this she would finally return to UMass Dartmouth and graduate from there. Her favorite subject has always been geometry, which is what made her decide to become a math teacher.
Mrs. Cziska constantly attempts to test out new ideas to create a more enjoyable learning experience for the students. Mrs. Cziska makes her love of geometry through her teaching, and grade ten is her favorite year to teach. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Cziska stays involved with the school community by advising the Origami Club, which is one way she integrates her interest in the arts and math together. This shows that her fascination of art has never died but instead allowed her to share it with the generations to come. Mrs. Cziska is admired for her dedication to her students, her colleagues and for always having a smile on her face.
