Freshmen and Sophomore students from the Marine Service Technology program participated in hands-on training with the Community Boating Center in order to obtain their Safe Power boating Certification. This experience included “on-the-water” drills such as docking/leaving the dock, mooring, knot tying, holding, anchoring, rescue/towing and man-overboard. Additionally students have classroom instruction on maritime safety, law and best practices. All students have the opportunity to take and pass the USCG test and safely and legally operate a powerboat.
