Student Produced Word Art Poster of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Word Art produced by Dillon Rebelo, a senior in Media Technology.

In honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday, January 15th, Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech would like to share a podcast created by one of its Media Technology students, Ryan Wilder.

In November 2023, seniors were assigned to create a piece of art for the Creative Expression Contest fitting the 2024 theme of Marching to the Beat of Justice

Students were expected to describe an injustice that they see today and express how they would take the lead, like a drum major, to bring a solution to the problem.  References from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s speeches and writings were to be included and used as an inspiration.

Make a career of humanity. Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights. You will make a better person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This is the first episode of a podcast series that will be produced by the media technology students that will cover various topics with a focus on cultural appreciation, alumni impact, and the artisan imprint.
