In March, before the need of social distancing and the effects of the coronavirus, the Early Childhood Education & Teaching Program took a stance (#wearetheworkforce) about the importance of supporting and financing the education of our youngest children in the state. The juniors and seniors of this career major attended the Boston State House to speak to our Legislators & Representatives to advocate for increased investment for children and families.
Now, during the pandemic, the children of families designated as Covid-19 Essential Workforces are being supported by the childcare facilities of our local educators that are considered an emergency child care program. Emergency child care programs are for when all other non-group-care settings have been exhausted and families have no other options.
We thank these Emergency Child Care Facilities for their support during this time of crisis.
