On Friday, May 25, 2018 the Fashion Design Students held their sixth annual Fashion Show where each student in the program showcases their hard work. The theme of the show was “Our Vision” and featured New York City streetwear, recycled/upcycled denim wear, special occasions and senior collections. Senior students especially had their chance to shine through the showcasing of their own collections that they created using their individually designed textiles. With over 29 models chosen by the fashion design students from a 15 different career and technical areas, the work of our fashion designed students was displayed on the runway.

For instructor Mary Ann Zuber, this year was particularly bittersweet as she is retiring in June. “I looked forward to this event because the students work so hard. I love seeing the pride on their faces walking down the runway. It’s so enriching for them because it involves so many areas in the industry of fashion” Mrs. Zuber remarked. “I also think it’s great that so many of our technical areas are involved with this event. Media Technology is in charge of taking photos and video, Cosmetology does our hair and make-up, and Carpentry with Painting and Design builds our sets and signs. It really is the Voc-Tech Family.”
