Eligibility
Any eighth grade student whose parent or guardian is a current resident of Dartmouth,
Fairhaven and New Bedford is eligible to apply for admission. Upper class students who meet residential
requirements are also eligible.
Application Process
Applications are mailed in November to parents of all eighth grade students in the district.
Completed applications are returned to the middle or junior high counselor for
processing. Applications for all students are available in the Guidance Office
at (508) 998-3321, extension 740.
Acceptance Criteria
Students will be accepted to Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School based on a selection
system that uses the following criteria: scholastic achievement, attendance, school behavior, and recommendations
from the sending school guidance counselor. For more information about the selection process, see the district’s
Admissions Policy.
Notification
Most eighth grade applicants will be notified of acceptance by mid-March. Upper class applicants will be notified
